Battle of Alligator Creek honored ahead of America’s 250th birthday

While most will be celebrating the country’s 250th birthday in a couple of weeks, the Sons and Daughters of the Revolution met to commemorate the 248th anniversary of a skirmish near Callahan.

Nassau County and Fernandina Beach have announced governmental offices will be closed today in observance of Juneteenth and tomorrow locals will honor the day of celebration.June 19 commemorates the end of slavery in the United States following the Civil War.

Pennsylvania motorcyclist killed in crash on interstate

A Pennsylvania motorcyclist is dead following a collision on I-95 on Wednesday afternoon, a Florida Highway Patrol report said.The report said the motorcycle and a van with two people onboard were traveling northbound on I-95 near State Road 200 in Nassau County.

Paddle for Veterans raises $10K for Building Battle Buddies

12-month data center moratorium officially approved

The 12-month moratorium on data centers in Nassau County is official as staff continues to gather testimony and facts on the topic. The Board of County Commissioners approved the ordinance Monday night during the final hearing on the moratorium.
